The Kolb Learning Styles of History Undergraduates in Turkiye

This study investigated the learning styles of history students depending on some demographic variables. The sample consisted 1849 from seven history-teaching (n=875) and eight departments (n=974) ten universities in different regions Türkiye. Data were collected using a personal information form Kolb Learning Styles Inventory (KLSI-3). According to Kolb's classification four styles, participants had assimilating, converging, diverging, accommodating respectively. nine balancing, reflecting, thinking, analyzing styles. whether variables “university,” “major,” “gender,” “age,” “grade level” affected participants’ “learning modes” [concrete experience (CE), reflective observation (RO), abstract conceptualization (AC), active experimentation (AE)], “perceiving information” (CE-AC), “processing (RO-AE) scores. results showed that variable “university” what adopted. Participants adopted balancing while those other reflecting "major" participants' CE, RO, AC "gender" their AE, "processing information" "age" AC, "perceiving "grade level" all scores except for CE.
